The Taj Mahal is a white marble mausoleum in Agra, U.P. India. It is declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1983. It is one of the most visited tourist places in India. Thousands of people not only from India but from all over the world come to visit Taj every year.
HISTORY: The Taj Mahal is named after Mumtaz Mahal, one of the queens of Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan. She died while giving birth to a baby, Shah Jahan loved her very much so he decided to build Taj in her memory. It took 21 years to complete it. Thousands of workers, elephants, and others worked to build it. The chief architect of the Taj Mahal was Ustad Ahmad Lahori.
ENTRY GATES: There are three entry gates to Taj :
- Eastern Gate.
- Western Gate.
- Southern Gate.

SOME TIPS:
1. The best time to visit is either morning or evening. In the morning time, there is less of a crowd.
2. Buy a shoe cover before entering the main gate.
3. Want to take perfect pictures? take it from the main gate. Because as you go near it, you can not take the whole structure/ complete Taj Mahal in a photo/picture even if you have a wide-angle lens camera.
4. Bring sunglasses with you because in sunlight white marble will shine and in such a situation, sunglasses will protect the eyes.
5. Bring ID proof to get the ticket.
6. Tripod stands and drone cameras are not allowed.
7. Can also visit places near the Taj Mahal on the same day, such as Agra Fort or Red Fort, and Itmat ud dullah's tomb.
8. To take the perfect picture of the Yamuna River go to Mehtab Bagh(situated on the opposite side of the river bank). The Yamuna is also one of the rivers flowing in India.
9. Wear colorful clothes for perfect photographs because a white marble background, it will be a great contrast.
10. No tour guide is needed.
11. Rs. 5 and Rs. 50 concessions on booking tickets online for Domestic and Foreign tourists respectively.
